Position: Plumbing Project Manager - Austin Division Location: Austin, TX Job Id: 908 of Openings: 1 Kilgore Industries, one of the largest Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing subcontractors in Texas, is growing, and the key to this growth is having the best team in the industry. We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who is looking to grow with the industry leader. The Project Manager is responsible for leading project teams to successfully deliver assigned projects through the successful management of resources, schedules, financials, and adherence to quality and control guidelines throughout the project life cycle. The Project Manager will manage issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery while contributing to process improvement initiatives related to improving project delivery. The Project Manager has the authority to run the project on a day-to-day basis and verify the project produces the required quality deliverables. Additionally, the Project Manager develops new business opportunities relative to a client, group of clients, or geographical area. PRIMARY DUTIES: Plan, direct, and coordinate craft personnel in support of the field's fluctuating labor needs for Commercial construction and maintenance Direct, support, and mentor all subordinate supervisory personnel; ensure compliance with safety and administrative requirements Assume primary project leadership responsibilities in partnership with other key team members and project personnel Evaluate the contractual scope of work; plan, organize, and staff key project positions through Regional Strategic Business Unit Leaders, Subordinate Project Managers, General Superintendents, etc. Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of Kilgore's corporate policy Initiate and maintain liaison with clients and contacts to facilitate successful construction activities Negotiate, prepare, and issue subcontracts Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Project Superintendent; prepare, issue, and update master project schedule and variance reports to ensure the project is built, safely, on schedule, and within budget Manage financial aspects of contracts (costs, billings, and collections) to maintain profitability goals and positive cash flow while simultaneously maintaining a positive relationship with the client Manage risks; investigate potentially serious situations to circumvent problems or promptly implement corrective measures as required Actively pursue additional work through change orders and communicate these as needed with Corporate Headquarters Ensure project document controls comply with contract requirements and Kilgore standards Supervise/mentor the work of other Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers when assigned Assume additional responsibilities as directed by Vice Presidents, Corporate Executives, or as the project dictates QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or GED, Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, or equivalent a plus. Minimum of 4 years of experience managing commercial construction jobs in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc., and their impact on project activities Strong project management skills, including documentation, cost control, procurement, scheduling, change order pricing, and negotiating Superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills Excellent MS Office skills and ability/drive to learn new software systems Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance Kilgore Industries, LP offers competitive compensation packages, weekly direct deposited paychecks, paid company holidays, 401K plan as well as health benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life/ AD&D, STD, LTD, and supplemental life insurance.
