DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Plumber 1, you will perform a variety skilled plumbing duties independently and working as a team with other trades persons or supervisors. You will utilize the tools of your trade for maintenance, repair, and installation of water and sewer lines, as well as kitchen, bathroom, and laundry fixtures within the Commonwealth-owned facilities in the Harrisburg region. You may also read and interpret blueprints, collaborate with your team on complex assignments, and assist in repairing steam distribution and condensate systems and equipment. Work hours are 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEE - REQUIRED TO REPORT TO WORK DURING EMERGENCIES AND OFFICE CLOSINGS. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing components and fixtures; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Special Requirements: You must possess an active motor vehicle license. Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions. Preferred Qualifications (not required): Willing and able to work in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Experience reading and interpreting blueprints. Experience replacing/repairing water mains.
