POSITION DETAILS The Fullerton School District is seeking individuals for Playground Supervisor positions to assist in the supervision of students before school, at play, during lunch recess, and/or after school. Playground Supervisors are tasked with supervising students and their behaviors, and patrolling the school campus to ensure that student safety protocols are observed and school/playground rules and regulations are followed by students. NOTE: We are now hiring for the school year which begins on August 14, 2023. This position ONLY works 1 - 2 hours/day during the school year. Individuals must be available to work during student lunch and recess, before and/or after school, Monday through Friday. Hours may vary depending on the assigned school site and/or class schedule. Assignment may vary based on school needs. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Education/Experience: Sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities of Playground Supervisors. Experience in dealing with school-age children is preferred. Knowledge of: School site safety rules and discipline policy. RECRUITMENT/EXAMINATION PROCEDURES This is a merged promotional and open competitive recruitment. The examination may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test, performance test and/or structured oral interview. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each part of the examination process. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each part of the examination. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Commission Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be six months. The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill future vacancies. Date of Examination The date of the examination(s) will be announced at a later date.
