Skillset/Requirements: 2 Openings
-Level 4, more on the senior side
-with 2 openings, flexibility to flex down
- Deploying on-prem kubernetes clusters.
- Integrating with cloud vendors, GCP
-On-Premise experience
- at least one programming language, not specific, GO, JAVA, PYTHON,
-First interview, remote coding exercise (Not looking for specific language, whichever the candidate is comfortable with)
- EKS, GCP (Kubernetes distribution provided by Cloud Vendors) Looking to go into a Hybrid Cloud environment
- Maintain Kubernetes Operator (Not a must have but nice to have)
- Seen very few candidates that actually have that experience
-Customer oriented mindset, applications running on the platform
- Open to Feedback, aim to understand feedback, provide the right solutions
-GITHUB, GitOps
-CI/CD Pipelines, delay on rollout, looking to have a 1on1 match

We are looking for a Platform Engineer IV to join a team responsible for building, managing and maintaining the Kubernetes platform on which our mission-critical services depend. We prize engineering professionals who are equipped with great technical skills and attitudes that motivate those around them. Our platform and our team
Our platform uses a mix of Open Source and commercial off-the-shelf software to deliver a Kubernetes platform, implementing network micro-segmentation, security standards and integrating additional requirements using a Kubernetes policy controller. We follow a mostly Kanban workflow, adhere to GitOps principles as much as possible and value fast iteration, secure-by-default solutions and customer-oriented mindset. The team has broad experience with kubernetes, networking, operating an internal cloud and application development. The team has presence both in Switzerland and in the US.
Job responsibilities:
Develop the Kubernetes platform at Verisign and related platform components and operators, following infrastructure and configuration as code principles
Develop the policy controller for the Kubernetes platform
Develop CI validation and verification of the code base
Integrate security practices as part of development and validation processes
Document platform for use-of-use by application teams and operators
Coordinate with other technical staff to implement systems and software
Support operations functions, including problem isolation, remediation and documentation
Regularly re-assess and compare the platform's internal ecosystem with the industry's leading solutions
Oversee technical designs for software solutions that combine Open Source components, COTS (commercial off the shelf) components, and custom developed components
Participate in a 24x7 on call rotation for tier 3 support
Desired Skills, Experience, and Attributes :
An ideal candidate will have a blend of technical skills, a desire to work as part of a team to grow themselves and those around them, and will have:
Experience with Kubernetes (and related ecosystem) configuration and administration
Experience with infrastructure-as-code with tooling such as Terraform
Experience with a high-level language such as Python
Understanding of network protocols and security
Experience developing mature solutions for monitoring and reporting using tools like Grafana and Splunk
Experience operating Linux and Unix systems in a large scale environment
Familiarity with development tools such as Github, Jira
Written and verbal communication skills ability to clearly and succinctly describe complex issues
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Prior experience developing or operating a Kubernetes platform in a production environment
8+ years of relevant industry experience
