Platform Engineer III

Description: Deploy, configure, manage, and optimize various compute and data management platforms used by Station Casinos to support applications and products of other product teams. Work as a leader in an agile team environment with other engineers to develop application features and functions as described in product backlog user stories. Provide guidance to team members and guild members to build skills and work-related knowledge and abilities. Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. Essential Functions: Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Station Casinos' "We Win Hearts" Company-wide culture and demonstrating Station Casinos' Championship Service Standards at all times. Deploy, configure, manage, and optimize various compute and data management platforms used by Station Casinos to support applications and products of other product teams. Consult with other Engineers to identify current operating procedures and clarify design and implementation objectives. Formulate plans using industry standard techniques to outline tasks required to deliver committed user stories. Work effectively as a member within an agile kanban team within a self-organized team, providing input and feedback in a helpful manner. Understand and enforce Company, department and guild standards. Actively participate in discipline guilds that guide the technical strategies of the company. Identify and resolve network performance and availability issues in a cost-effective and timely fashion. Participate with other members of a product team to operate, optimize, and support platforms in a production environment. Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in a technology related field or equivalent work experience. At least seven (7) years of experience in an enterprise environment with demonstrable expertise in design, implementation, and architecture in at least five (5) of the major products and at least three (3) of the platforms in common use at Station Casinos preferred. Demonstrable knowledge of Platforms and Apps such as: Azure, Nutanix, Linux OS and Scripting, Kubernetes/AKS, Service Mesh, Loadbalancer, Terraform-Infrastructure as Code, AzureDevOps, Jenkins, CI/CD, Traefik, YAML, Sematext/Logging Frameworks, Rabbit MQ, Mongo DB, Docker, AWS, Active Directory, Windows 10 (all versions), Vmware, Cisco UCS, and monitoring across all environments. Subject Matter Expert on multiple systems under specialty and with a detailed understanding of how multiple systems interact. Develops innovative solutions to unique problems. An understanding of Agile Kanban principles and practices. Certification as an Agile Team Member preferred. Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Ability to communicate effectively with Stakeholders, Team Members and Leadership in both written and verbal form. Must be able to work on call as required. Experience in providing leadership in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
