We are seeking a motivated, qualified individual to join our company as a Plant Operator who will play a crucial role in the efficient and safe operation of our chemical distribution warehouse. This position will be responsible for loading and unloading bulk trailers and loading totes and drums with various chemicals and products. All work will be performed in accordance with applicable guidelines, Company safety procedures, and OSHA regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Load and unload bulk trailers, load totes and drums with chemicals and / or products per customer orders
Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, lifts, and other machinery
Maintain equipment in optimal working order and perform regular maintenance to maximize production
Conduct inspections to verify the integrity of containers, labels, and shipping documentation to ensure that all products meet quality standards
Communicate any discrepancies or shortages to direct manager
Perform general labor tasks and general warehouse maintenance
Partner and coordinate with team members, internal departments, and leadership to ensure timely completion of orders
Maintain a clean and safe working environment; observe all safety and security procedures, and report unsafe conditions
Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to promote safety awareness and environmental consciousness
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures for the handling, storage, and transportation of chemicals, ensuring the well-being of yourself, coworkers, and the environment
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Prior experience in a chemical distribution warehouse or related industry
Experience operating a forklift and other material handling equipment
Basic reading and writing skills
Must be able to meet criteria for safety sensitive functions according to Company standards
TWIC Card preferred or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment
Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively with team members, leadership, and customers
Detail orientated with the ability to solve problems and function in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions heat, cold, etc.
Demonstrate the ability to safely operate equipment
Ability to read, write, and comprehend associated documents
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Ability to maintain awareness and recognize safety hazards
Ability to follow all company safety policies and procedures
Have the physical stamina required for position and the ability to lift and / or move objects that weight 50 pounds or more
Ability to work with outdoor elements, odors, dust, fumes, or uneven ground
Ability to work in various weather conditions - heat, cold, etc.
