Plant Mechanic

Job Description Job Title: Plant Mechanic Location: Media, PA Benefits Package Includes: Full medical with no employee contribution Job related tuition reimbursement up to $3,000 a year Union pension Union Supplied 401k option with employer contribution Paid time off Principle Duties: Ascertain that equipment is running efficiently and producing quality products and packages Repair and maintain any and all equipment and systems as required Perform preventative maintenance on plant & warehouse equipment, machinery, and systems as required Cooperate with the equipment operators and other plant, warehouse, and maintenance employees Maintain responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the equipment and the safety of those operating it Relieve as the manager deems necessary Perform other duties as assigned by management Requirements: Minimum of 3 years maintenance experience in a high speed machinery environment (preferably dairy) Previous experience working with the principals of mechanical (hydraulic and air) and electrical machines Knowledge in refrigeration machinery / equipment Prior experience of ammonia refrigeration a plus Knowledge of boiler operation and mechanics Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. Ability to perform the following physical behaviors repetitively throughout a shift: standing, walking, handling, reaching horizontally, reaching above the shoulder, reaching below waist, grasping firmly, pushing buttons, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, pulling and pushing Ability to push/pull a manual pallet fork truck, up to 1000 pounds and/or ability to operate an electric fork truck Ability to work in cold and damp environments Ability to climb ladders of varying heights and perform various functions while on the ladder Ability to withstand noisy environments Qualified candidates should possess and maintain a valid drivers' license Wawa will provide reasonable accommodation to complete an application upon request, consistent with applicable law.
