Benefits start day 1 Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance SUMMARY: The Plant Accountant provides professional-level support regarding accounting, financial, and compliance functions for the North Jackson Facility in order to ensure timely and accurate reporting and effective analysis that leads to maximization of economic performance. The Plant Accountant reports directly to the Plant Controller and will interact with Corporate Accounting and Purchasing, North Jackson Management Team, Maintenance, Technology and other employees in order to gather and disseminate information to ensure the effective performance of this function. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Specific primary responsibilities are defined by the following, but those listed are not all-inclusive: Accounting Functions: Evaluate existing processes and make recommendations for modifications to maximize accuracy and efficiency. Identify opportunities for the development of new processes and make recommendations. Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley and other internal and external compliance requirements. Participate in daily accounting activities that support timely and accurate reporting and improve performance. Participate in the preparation and review of budgets and forecasts. Investigate and analyze monthly costing variances and assist in the development of appropriate cost structures. Participate in managing site physical inventory, including annual physical inventory process to ensure accurate recording. Assist with establishing and maintaining systems to ensure accurate operating supplies inventory and partner with management team on monthly reporting and analysis. Prepare weekly sales versus forecast analysis, including Cost of Sales/Contribution Margin analysis reports and collaborate with General Manager to accurately forecast shipments. Perform financial review and analysis of operating results. Develop and analyze ad hoc reports as required. As appropriate, provide direction, guidance, education and support to the management team and other members of North Jackson staff to promote accurate accounting and maximization of financial performance. Safety: Ensure personal compliance with safety policies and rules. Ensure personal compliance with applicable regulatory standards (safety, environmental, health). Report any issues not immediately resolvable to appropriate manager. Make recommendations regarding procedures, processes or tools that improve safety and support a safe work environment. QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication, collaboration and teamwork skills; strong ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks; aptitude for analysis, process improvement, problem solving and solution implementation. Education and Experience Minimum: Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance required, MBA preferred, CPA or CMA also preferred Highly functional Microsoft Office skills; particularly Excel and PowerPoint Minimum: 5 years hands-on manufacturing accounting background with cost accounting experience Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively in a deadline driven environment Physical activities and/or requirements include: Speaking, Hearing. Near and far eyesight with accurate, average field of vision and depth perception; Ability to safely move around a heavy industrial plant environment up to 2 hours per day; Ability to safely move around an office environment, sitting and utilizing a personal computer and other office equipment for an average of 8-12 hours per day.
