Plant Accountant

PLANT ACCOUNTANT IMMEDIATE OPENING Miracapo Pizza Company is the leading North American manufacturer of specialty frozen pizzas for some of the world's largest retail, foodservice and consumer branded companies. For over 30 years we have specialized in contract manufacturing, private label, and brand development. PURPOSE Assist production operations by providing general reporting, performance against standards, P&L oversite, and plant spending support. KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS Close production work orders the following day and review material variance and labor/machine hour utilization. Maintain labor performance file on a daily basis Analyze production data & prepare the weekly management report which includes labor performance, actual material usage performance, and cycle count adjustments Participate in weekly operational KPI meetings Create/track all indirect purchase orders for QA, Sanitation, Production, Warehouse and Maintenance departments Plant month-end close responsibilities, inclusive of indirect expense variance analysis, accruals, reclassification journal entries, etc Annual plant budgeting involvement Additional participation and assistance as needed COMPETENCIES Analytical mindset enabling informed decisions Able to manage competing priorities to meet or exceed expectations Effectively copes with change and ability to give and receive feedback Drives continuous improvement Committed to organizational success and takes ownership of results Effective oral and written communications across functions Able to develop interpersonal relationships to achieve goals SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred 3 years prior accounting experience in a manufacturing environment Business knowledge of production operations Advanced Excel skills, inclusive of pivot tables, vlookup formulas, etc Self-starter who can accomplish results in an ambiguous environment with little or no direction in order to drive business results Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with all levels of plant employees As an equal opportunity employer, Miracapo Pizza Company recruits, hires and promotes the most qualified individual, without regard to race, creed, color, age, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, veteran status, marital status or sexual orientation.
