Location: Red Oak,Texas,United States Thalle Construction Co. Inc. ("Thalle") is seeking a Journeyman-level Pipefitter. The Pipefitter will work closely with and support the operations team, interact with a variety of staff at all levels and uphold a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. This position is located in Red Oak, Texas. Thalle, established in 1947, is a heavy civil construction company with a corporate office in Hillsborough, NC, and a regional office in Alvarado, Texas. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Clean, bevel, prepare and install pipe with various fittings and weld joints. Install pipe hangers and supports. Test pipe installation, bend pipe, and install valves, traps or strainers. Measuring, cutting, assembling, threading, repairing and/or installing pipe. Modifying and bending pipe to the specified angle using pipe cutters and pipe-threading machines. Works on storm drains & underground utilities. Test Pipe Systems for safety and functionality. Perform layout, rigging and transportation of pipe, valves, and fittings. Interpret sketches and blueprints. Conduct work with 100% integrity and professionalism. Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not mandatory Ability to receive written or oral instructions Establish and maintain effective working relationship with field and office personnel Must be committed to contributing to a culture of safety, looking out for yourself and others An up-to-date contractor's license as a Plumber from the Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board (Journeyman or Master) and a license from the Arkansas Department of Health Physical Requirements: Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Work long shifts. Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements. Must have good hand-eye coordination, quick reaction times. Able to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and safety-toed boots. Able to walk moderate distances to reach work area up to 1/2 mile. Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
