Provides supervision and technical guidance to the Plumbing foreman, and the trade techs in the assigned shop when required. Ensures that the work is performed utilizing the appropriate trade specific means, methods, and materials. Ensures the necessary safety requirements are provided and followed by staff and contractors. Enters, assigns, and tracks work through the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), and ensures work is completed in the time required as designated in CMMS. Performs assigned tasks independently, supplies quotes to PPS Administration for projects when requested. Oversees project work performed by internal staff and external contractors. Responsible for planning the work, purchasing necessary material, following any sketches, diagrams, and blueprints provided. Coordinates and assists work with all other PPS skilled trades shops. Manage contracts and contractors for goods and services. Performs under the supervision of the Physical Plant Services Director. Performs other related duties when required. Minimum Qualifications Extensive experience, training, and knowledge of the principles and practices of plumbing and steam fitting. Ability to provide technical direction and supervision of maintenance, repair, and construction regarding plumbing, steam fitting and all related trade work . Basic computer skills and abilities in (Word, Outlook , Excel). Experience with CMMS software. Exhibit and utilize skills in cultural competence. Embraces the concepts of Recovery as evidenced by displaying respect and empathy when engaged with others. Valid Virginia driver's license required. Additional Considerations Valid Virginia driver's license is required. Verifiable employment as a commercial Plumber is required. Verifiable employment as a Plumbing foreman is required. Verifiable employment as a Plumber in a hospital setting is preferred. Verifiable employment as a Plumbing foreman in a hospital setting is preferred. A valid Masters Plumbing License is preferred.
