A health system is seeking an ophthalmologist for locum tenens coverage. Top sights in Eastern North Carolina to see include the Biltmore, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and the North Carolina Zoo. The position requires the evaluation of all hospital and emergency department consults, including assessing and providing surgical treatment for trauma cases. The role is limited to inpatient and outpatient care, with 24-hour call duty. The provider must be located within 20 minutes of ECU Health Medical Center while on call. Preference is given to candidates trained in EPIC. The provider will not be responsible for responding to codes and will have no ICU/critical care duties. Additionally, the position requires proficiency in specific procedures, including repairing ruptured globes, eyelid lacerations, and removing corneal foreign bodies.
