The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within Montana State Hospital. This position is responsible for treating and prescribing physical medical care to patients as referred in a Clinic Setting. Physicians at MSH provide direct patient care and collaborate as a provider and treatment team member in the provision of unit specific treatment health care for psychiatric patients. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity General practice of medicine for adults and geriatric patients and of the use of consultative resources in the practice of medicine. Basic understanding of the major psychiatric diagnoses and how the diagnosis may interrelate with medical symptoms and illnesses. Basic understanding of the use of the common psychotherapeutic agents and of the statutory requirements relating to the practice of medicine. Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with people. Excellent communication skills. Meet minimum qualifications: Graduate education up through and including a residency in family practice, internal medicine, or another general medical specialty. Licensure as a physician in the State of Montana.
