The Cancer Health Service Line at Corewell Health is seeking Hematologist-Oncologists to join our growing team of employed providers. Corewell Health's Cancer program is a collaboration of hospitals and community providers. We specialize in treating the most complex types of cancers and each treatment plan is as unique as the patient who receives it. Based in Reed City, Michigan, at the Susan P. Wheatlake Cancer Center, we invite you to explore this robust cancer program in West Michigan. Susan P. Wheatlake is a comprehensive regional treatment facility bringing together the full range of services for patients and families on their cancer journey. The cancer center features a pharmacy, infusion services, radiation oncology and a Wellness Center. This position offers an enhanced compensation package, generous starting bonus, and relocation allowance. Essential Functions Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others. Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times. Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care. Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients. Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources. Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards. Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient/family advocate. Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities. Actively works with Corewell Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.
