Looking to relocate to Los Angeles, California Our client a well established Health Center in the greater San Fernando Valley is looking to hire a family practice/Internal medicine physician responsible for overseeing and managing the care of assigned patients.


The Physician specialist will actively participate in Quality/PI, Peer Review and Patient Safety programs as directed by the CMO and promotes the integration of clinical programs to ensure medical care is consistent with the mission and vision of the Health Center. The family practice/Internal medicine physician specialist complies with all regulatory requirements for the provision of medical and behavioral health services. This position will report directly to the Chief Medical Officer.


Responsibilities:


Provides leadership and direction in the initiation and continuation of primary care services.


Examines individuals requesting primary care services. Provides accurate diagnosis and appropriate care within the scope of Internal medicine and refers individuals for specialty consultation or treatment in conformance with approved clinical protocols and guidelines.


Documents all patient interactions in EHR to accurately reflect the nature of the encounter, the condition of the patient and the care or treatment provided.


Works collaboratively with CMO with integration of clinical areas within Health Center including but not limited to medical services, dental services, behavioral health services, and other services as identified from time to time.


Ensures compliance with federal, State and local regulation associated with providing medical services.


Works collaboratively across multidisciplinary lines to improve the provision of care.


Works collaboratively with Administration to ensure effective and efficient clinical operations.


Assists CMO with the provision of the training of the support staff.


Supervises mid-level providers.


Participates in Peer Review activities.


Reviews and collaborates on all practice protocols for providers and clinic policies and procedures related to the provision of care to patients.


Maintains patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.


Assists with the maintenance of clinical coding and documentation standards.


Complies fully all applicable federal, state, local and center rules, regulations, protocols and procedures governing the practice of medicine as well as those relating to, but not limited to, personnel issues, work place safety, public health and confidentiality.


Supervises medical assistants and midlevel providers assigned to the medical clinic in the absence of the CMO.


Assesses patient needs based upon the appropriate growth, development and maturity of the individual patient and/or age specific patient group.


Appropriately develops individual patient care/treatment plans.


Qualifications:


Required education, experience, training


Degree of doctor of medicine.


Completion of a residency approved by an American Specialty Board of Internal Medicine/FP


Credentialing approved by Health Care Board of Directors


License


Licensed by the State Board of Medical Examiners to practice medicine in the state of California.
