Physician Family Medicine/Internal Medicine Practice - Float Req 75036 Under the general supervision and direction of the Physician in Chief/designee and working collaboratively with patients and families (as defined by the patient), perform preventative care, chronic care, and episodic illness visits which may require screening and diagnostic testing. Formulate diagnosis based on clinical assessment and establish an appropriate and timely treatment plan. Select and order appropriate medication for treatment of medical conditions, as well as immunizations for preventative care. Review diagnostic tests and procedures ordered, as it relates to follow-up care. Provide in-person as well as synchronous / asynchronous virtual Primary Care including managing EMR "in-basket" content (patient messages, results, refills, etc.) at various practice locations and possibly during atypical times, as directed. Work effort will primarily be focused on direct patient care unless clinical administrative work assigned by leadership. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA Privacy and Confidentiality Regulations. Supervise care provided by nurse practitioners / physician assistants, as needed. Provide clinician support for population health / other strategic initiatives as needed. Accept direction from Physician leadership and Management in a respectful manner. Work collaboratively with practice providers, support staff, and management in a respectful manner. Consult with other primary care and specialist providers, as clinically indicated, via appropriate modalities. Act as a resource and/or consultant to phone triage nurses / other care team members and take phone calls from various patients/family members, as requested. Chart all findings completely and accurately in accordance with all CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) billing regulations pertaining to patient visits. Utilize an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and other related software to update and/or access patient information, as appropriate. Treat patients and their families with dignity and respect. Work to ensure their questions are answered completely and in a manner that is understandable. Ensure patients are seen at scheduled appointment times. Float assignments may vary by location and duration. Strong efforts will be made by management to provide as much lead time as possible regarding assignments. Demonstrate flexibility regarding schedule changes to meet practice and patient needs. Hours: Full-time Shift: Days We are a fast-paced, established, patient centered practice that provides quality care to our patients. Education and/or Experience Requirements: Must be qualified to treat a spectrum of illnesses and injuries for pediatric and/or adult patients. Must be board certified/board eligible in Family or Internal medicine. MD or DO with completion of U.S. residency required. Must be RI & MA licensed. Provide an excellent patient experience of high-quality primary care in-person and via telehealth at various practice locations as directed by Primary Care leadership team. Travel is required. Perform other clinical duties as assigned including managing EMR "in-basket" content (test results, patient messages, etc.) concerning patients that were treated personally and/or patients of other primary care providers when support/coverage is needed. Provide clinical support for various Primary Care programs/initiatives as needed. Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus and provide required vaccination documentation unless approved for an exemption or deferral by Southcoast prior to starting employment.
