This position is responsible for quality assurance; medical chart and lab review; adherence to clinical protocols and pharmacy and radiology procedures; and compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, PCER, and OSHA regulations. Helps to ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and professional standards pertaining to quality patient care in the ambulatory setting. In the absence of the medical director, assists in directing the Physician Dispensary and medical materials/technology under his/her DEA and GA physicians license. Provides patient care and/ or support activities appropriate to ages served; primarily adults ages 18-65 or geriatric patients ages over 65. May also include care for infant age 0-1 year, child ages 1-12 years or adolescent ages 13-17 years.Job Knowledge:Clinical expertise and competence in providing direct services and medical consultation is required. Knowledge regarding the role and scope of practice of mid-level providers, particularly nurse practitioners. Knowledge of effective and efficient clinical operations is required. Good staff supervisory skills. Familiarity with health problems specific to immigrants, the medically underserved and homeless population preferred. A working knowledge of principles and practices of administration, including planning, organization, and financial and personal reporting practices as required by state.
