The Physician Assistant Supervisor reports to the designated medical director for clinical practice and designated person for administrative issues. Key Responsibilities: Reporting directly to the Unit Director of the Main Operating Room or designee, this candidate is an active physician assistant, working 65% of their time as a Robotic PA in the Operating Room and 35% of their time performing administrative duties. Supervises, coordinates, and administers the practice of advanced healthcare professionals (AHP), including nurse practitioners and physician assistants across Perioperative Services, with respect to Robotic Surgery. Ensures quality of care and serves as a role model, expert clinician, and mentor. Assists with the administration and management of personnel, fiscal, and material resources.

Custom Scope: Provides direct supervision to a team of robotic physician assistants, coordinating schedules, training staff on robotic procedures, conducting quality assurance checks, troubleshooting technical issues, liaising with healthcare professionals to integrate robotic technology into patient care, and staying updated on advancements in robotic-assisted healthcare to enhance medical services. Functions as advisor to unit and administration. Analyzes and resolves problems, interprets policies (e.g., fiscal management, HR, contracts and grants, resource management in defined areas) and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Supervises staff to assure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental goals and objectives.


Salary range: $131,105-$323,702 (annually)

Qualifications

REQUIRED:



  • California State Physician Assistant
  • Physician Assistant National Board Certification
  • Master's Degree as a Physician Assistant
  • NPI , DEA , Enrollment in PECOS, Enrollment in CURES1. Ability to utilize excel, word and other software programs
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP (where applicable)
  • 5 years relevant OR experience as a PA
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative,
  • clinical and academic personnel
  • Skill in working independently and following through with minimum direction
  • Ability to set priorities
  • Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence
  • Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner
