Physician Assistant

In this role, you will work closely with our client's neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons to provide comprehensive patient care across a wide range of neurological and musculoskeletal conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in neurosurgery and orthopedics, excellent clinical skills, and a passion for improving the lives of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history review, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests, to evaluate neurological and orthopedic conditions.
Collaborate with neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, incorporating surgical and non-surgical interventions as appropriate.
Assist in surgical procedures, including but not limited to, spine surgeries, brain surgeries, joint replacements, and trauma surgeries, by providing surgical assistance, suturing, and wound closure under the supervision of the attending surgeon.
Perform procedures such as joint injections, wound care, and casting or splinting, as directed by the supervising physician, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
Provide preoperative and postoperative care to patients undergoing neurosurgical and orthopedic procedures, including perioperative management, pain control, and monitoring for complications.
Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and postoperative care instructions, ensuring that they have the information and support they need to participate in their own care.
Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including nurses, physical therapists, and case managers, to coordinate patient care and facilitate smooth transitions between care settings.
Document all patient encounters, procedures, and clinical assessments accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, in compliance with regulatory requirements and institutional policies.
Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, safety, and satisfaction.
Stay current with advances in neurosurgery and orthopedic care by participating in continuing education activities, professional conferences, and self-directed learning opportunities.

Requirements:
Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physician Assistant in NJ.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Physician Assistant in neurosurgery, orthopedics, or a related surgical specialty.
Strong clinical assessment and procedural skills, with proficiency in assisting in a variety of surgical procedures.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.

Please note- The annual base salary range is $100k to $140k. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
