Connecticut Orthopaedics is a growing healthcare practice based in the greater New Haven community with a strong commitment to providing excellent care and customer service to our patients, athletes and employer clients. We are seeking an experienced PA who can read x-rays and manage acute injuries in our Orthopedic Urgent Care. In addition, there is the opportunity for first assisting in our ambulatory surgical center. This position offers a competitive salary and a flexible work-life balance.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Coverage in our acute orthopaedic walk-in clinics
Evaluate, treat and triage adult and pediatric patients as appropriate
Provide coverage primarily in our new Wallingford location or one of our other three sites Branford, Hamden, Orange
Operate and prove competency in multiple applications such as EMR and ancillary products
Communicate with orthopaedic physicians regarding care plans
Primary clinical hours on Monday - Friday evenings
Provide clinical coverage one weekend per month
Participate in office call
Serve as a team leader during shift, supervising front desk and radiology staff on location
Attend meetings, trainings as needed
Demonstrate willingness to be flexible

Requirements:

License to perform medical care as a Physician Assistant or APRN in the State of Connecticut
1 year experience in Orthopaedic care
1 year experience in the operating room assisting in orthopaedic procedures prefered
Self-motivated and accountable to manage/direct patient care regardless of magnitude of injury
Solid time management and organizational skills to efficiently treat in a high-volume clinic
Passionate in self-improvement for professional growth to meet the values of our practice and enhance our level of service
Excellent communication skills to ensure all team members, patients and external parties are fully informed
Strong written communication skills for chart documentation and interaction with team members
Ability to provide knowledge transfer to other members of the team
Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of colleagues and employees
