Hours: Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM.

Position Summary

As a Physical Therapist at Orthopaedic Associates of Michigan, you will provide preventative, preoperative, and postoperative care to patients of all ages who are experiencing varying degrees of pain and injury to the musculoskeletal system. You will aide in their rehabilitation by developing and executing treatment plans in accordance with the current techniques and protocols established by the Physicians of OAM. The Physical Therapist will ensure that every patient at OAM is provided with empathetic and outstanding care, centering on the ultimate goal of rehabilitating them so that they are able to lead active lives and go about their day to day tasks without pain.

Essential Responsibilities

Assess and provide physical therapies for OAM patients in accordance with protocols established by the practice.
Develop individualized treatment plans for patients that incorporate various exercises, stretches, equipment, and hands-on techniques in order to manage the patients' pain, increase their mobility, and prevent further pain and injury.
Maintain a positive and empathetic approach to patient care, ensuring that all patients feel heard and understood.
Communicate goals and expected outcomes of the treatment plan in ways that the patients will understand and be receptive to.
Measure patients' progress with treatment plans and make adjustments as necessary.
Document complete and accurate notes as it relates to each physical therapy service provided.
Facilitate all necessary communication with patients and providers to effectively care for the physical therapy needs of the patient.
Educate patients and family members about the recovery process.
Foster an environment of teamwork with other OAM employees and departments that ultimately allows for everyone to focus on the patients' needs first and foremost.
Maintain a full schedule of patients as required by established metrics.
Provide instruction and oversight of Physical Therapy Aides.
Maintain sanitized and organized work and exercise stations.
Perform other duties or functions as assigned by the Physical Therapy Lead and upper management.

Required & Preferred Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience:

Required:
Graduate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
Current State of Michigan Physical Therapy license.
Preferred:
3+ years of experience in an Orthopaedic Physical Therapy setting.
Experience in spinal treatment.
Mackenzie education or certification.

Motor, Sensory, and Physical Requirements:

Ability to assist patients of all ages with standing and movement.
Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time.
Manual dexterity required to operate modern exercise and office equipment.
Normal or correctible range of hearing and eyesight.
Frequent bending, stooping, lifting and reaching required.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
