Schedule: Monday - Friday (40 hrs.)

Facility Type: Outpatient physical therapy clinic- Spaulding-Brighton is a community -based outpatient clinic. Therapists manage a predominately orthopedic population of diverse musculoskeletal diagnoses. The clinic also serves an athletic population of students from high schools and universities as well as competitive club masters. The clinic is located in the former New Balance building close to the Charles River.

SRH-Brighton is part of the Spaulding Rehabilitation Outpatient Network, which comprises 24 outpatient facilities in Eastern Massachusetts. This affords employees a variety of opportunities to be involved in the additional programs and events across the Network. Spaulding-Brighton is also a member of MGB.

Job Description: Full-time physical therapist and (per diem opportunities) to work as a member of a small (7 therapists) experienced team of physical therapists in spacious (7,000 sq feet), "state of the art" outpatient clinic. Working closely with Sports Medicine, the clinic focuses on movement assessment & retraining and managing patients from pain to performance. Located in Brighton the clinic serves the local communities which ensures a diversity of referrals & demographics.

Job Requirements: Experience in orthopaedic physical therapy. Interest in sports performance retraining. Strong manual therapy and clinical reasoning skills as well as experience in spine care a plus. Motivated to pursue continuing education. Demonstrated willingness to embrace new ideas and an interest in the emerging concept of movement health. Desire to learn & grow as a clinician.

Graduate of accredited Physical Therapy program. Current license in the state of MA. Candidate must be mature, self-motivated, self-directed and able to work independently while complementing a friendly, professional hard -working team. New Graduates are welcome to apply.

Qualifications
Education/Degree
Required
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
Licensure
Required
  • Licensed (and in good standing) as a physical therapist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Skills (Specific learned activity gained through training (e.g. computer skills, keyboarding, presentation, CPR, ACLS, etc.)
Required
  • BLS required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the English language.
  • Basic skills in math and computer science.
  • Appropriate knowledge of physical therapy evaluation and treatment techniques to manage the rehabilitation population.
  • Effective problem solving skills for physical therapy evaluation, interpretation, treatment planning and execution taking into consideration patient's age, psychosocial, cultural and religious background.
  • Basic skills in teaching other and self assessment of learning needs, strengths, and professional goals.
  • Safely execute all job responsibilities without risking injury to self or patients. Demonstrates the ability to assess and interact with patients and families using the theories of human growth and development, family systems, and cultural background.
  • Computer proficiency required. Microsoft office applications preferred with ability to learn new software.
  • Maintain variable work schedule depending on hospital/program needs to provide patient care (evening, holidays, weekend and travel).
