SCOPE OF WORK:
Patient Care and Treatment Implementation: PTA's Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by PTs. Provide hands-on interventions, therapeutic exercises, and modalities to help patients improve mobility, strength, coordination, and functional abilities.
Documentation and Reporting: PTAs maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments, progress, and outcomes. They record observations, assist in updating treatment plans, and communicate relevant information to the supervising PT and other healthcare team members.
Patient Education and Home Exercise Programs: PTAs educate patients about their condition, treatment techniques, and exercises to be performed at home. They demonstrate proper techniques, provide guidance on injury prevention, and encourage patients to actively participate in their own recovery.
Rehabilitation and Exercise Supervision: PTAs supervise patients during therapeutic exercises and activities, ensuring proper form, safety, and adherence to treatment plans. They monitor patients' progress, provide feedback, and make necessary modifications under the direction of the PT.
Equipment and Physical Environment: PTAs assist in setting up and operating therapy equipment, as well as ensuring a safe and clean treatment environment. They may assist with maintaining and organizing therapy supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Physical Therapist Assistant Degree and/or Accredited PT Assistant Program
- Georgia State Physical Therapist Assistant License
