Virtus Healthcare Staffing is excited to partner with a leading rehabilitation center in Chatham County, NC to find a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join their team.

About the Opportunity:

As a PTA, you will play a vital role in assisting licensed physical therapists in delivering exceptional care to patients recovering from injuries, illnesses, or surgeries. You will work collaboratively with the PT to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, helping patients regain their strength, mobility, and independence. Responsibilities:

Conduct patient evaluations under the supervision of a physical therapist, including gathering information on medical history, current condition, and functional limitations.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans consisting of therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, gait training, and other interventions as directed by the PT.

Educate and instruct patients on proper exercise techniques, home exercise programs, and the use of assistive devices.

Motivate and encourage patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, promoting a positive and supportive environment.

Document patient progress accurately and comprehensively in electronic medical records.

Maintain a clean and organized treatment area, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.

May assist with clerical tasks such as scheduling appointments and preparing treatment documentation.

Qualifications:

Active license as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of North Carolina.

Associate's degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from an accredited program.

Minimum 1 year of experience working in a physical therapy setting (preferred).

Strong understanding of musculoskeletal anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology.

Excellent proficiency in therapeutic exercise techniques, manual therapy, and gait training.

Effective communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities.

Proficient in electronic medical record systems (EHR) a plus.
