Duties Implements policies and develops procedures for the physical protection of base facilities. Conducts routine physical and internal security inspections unannounced, detecting deficiencies and violations of directives. Prepares security reports such as ammunition and explosives reports, arms rooms and bunker reports, physical security inspection reports, crime prevention reports, etc. Prepares various briefings to personnel related to the physical security program. Requirements Conditions of Employment One year trial/probationary period may be required. Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Visit This position requires a valid, state-issued drivers license, pass the USAREUR-AF Drivers Test, have the ability to operate a motor vehicle, and must be insurable in order to travel to other locations in the USAG Poland area of responsibility. This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel approximately 20% of the time away from your permanent duty station. This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance of access for the duration of employment which includes a background investigation and credit check. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing physical security policies, procedures, and plans; developing methods to improve security issues; AND identifying and evaluating vulnerabilities for a physical security program (e.g. operational, industrial, counter-terrorism, and new construction projects). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Criminal Justice. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Separate Maintenance Allowance (SMA) may be authorized. The USAG Poland is the newest garrison within the Department of Army. Because of this, some services typically found on an Army facility may not currently be available, including government housing, medical, AAFES, and Commissary facilities. When receiving medical or dental care in the overseas area, employees generally must pay for service up front and submit claims to their insurance companies for reimbursements. Access to medical and dental care in Poland is primarily through the use of local Polish medical and dental facilities on a fee basis with the possibility of reimbursement based on an individual's health insurance plan. Accessing medical care on the military installation is extremely limited. At an exchange rate of approximately 4:1, Polish Zloty (PLN) to US Dollar (USD), the cost of living in Poland is very reasonable.
