SPA assists the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in developing leading edge technologies to counter WMD in support of CCMDs and transitioning these technologies to military services and COCOMs. SPA provides expertise across the full range of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high-yield explosives (CBRNE) WMD, Counter Improvised Threat and Countering Threat Network technologies to support understanding, detection, identification, characterization, denial, control, disabling, defeating, disposing, safeguarding the force, managing consequences, and test and evaluation in support of military and civilian operations. Responsibilities Provide R&D analysis support to the DTRA RD-TS (Test and Assessment) Department with emphasis on testing and evaluating counter WMD (CWMD) Threats. Responsible for the Test and Evaluation (T&E) quality; designs and develops test programs, processes, and systems to measure the functionality and integrity of complex products and services. Writes detailed test procedures and protocols to fully assess product reliability and evaluates the ability of products to meet performance standards and specifications. Gathers test data and evaluates the results of tests to determine if product designs and architecture meets customer specifications and performance expectations. Qualifications Required: Master's in a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) or related field 10+ Years experience Must have experience working with and meeting 3 or more of the following technical requirements: 1) Weapons Systems T&E experience, 2) Penetration mechanics principles - such as hypervelocity impact and geologic materials, 3) Blast characterization - loading pattern and its computation for the analysis of engineering structures (tunnels, free-air blast, instrumentation and measurement techniques), 4) Structural response - blast doors, response to blast and debris impact on targets, 5) Geophysical characterization, 6) Working knowledge of Hydrocode modeling and simulation tools - SHAMRC, CTH, ALEGRA, LS-Dyna or similar codes, 7) Mechanical and test article design - structures, new instrumentation capabilities, and/or 8) Familiar with statistical/data analysis methods as they apply to technical requirements above Must be able to work independently and complete tasking with minimum guidance and supervision. Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills. Possess TS, SCI (Eligible), clearance and the ability to maintain it Desired: PhD in a STEM or related field Chem/Bio T&E Experience
