Job Description Overview:
Virginia Oncology Associates, the largest group of medical professionals in Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina devoted exclusively to cancer care and blood disorders, has an exciting opportunity for an Oncology Pharmacy Manager for our office in Norfolk. Responsibilities:
- Oversees pharmacy services in accordance with governmental, legal requirements and other regulatory standards.
- Initiates and promotes staff development by assuring proper training and evaluating performance.
- Prepares budget and financial reports. Monitors the allocation of resources. Monitors and informs staff of all new regulatory requirements.
- Establishes and implements departmental policies and procedures.
- Initiates quality assurance and safety policies and procedures.
- Consults with physicians and other clinicians to provide expertise on all pharmacy related issues.
- Research, analyze and report pharmacological and disease management information.
- Provide hematology/oncology clinical analysis expertise to physicians and clinical staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
- Must possess a current Pharmacist license in the state of Virginia
- At least 5 years experience as a registered pharmacist
- Prior supervisory/management experience preferred
- At least 5 years of experience in a pharmacy with I.V. skills
- Oncology experience preferred
- PharmD preferred or equivalent experience
- Must be willing and able to travel to all VOA sites
