$10,000 / Two (2) Years Sign On Agreement SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Director of Pharmacy, the Staff Pharmacist is responsible for reviewing and verifying physician orders, accurately dispensing medications, providing timely and accurate drug information and performing well-reasoned and appropriate clinical interventions to optimize patient medication therapy. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of accredited school of Pharmacy; Bachelor Degree of Pharmacy or Pharm D. Experience: One year hospital experience preferred; will consider recent pharmacy graduate. Certifications: Current Arkansas Pharmacist license in good standing or eligibility to obtain pharmacist license within 90 days of hire date. Other: Proven communication skills; able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel within the organization. Attentive to detail, strong interpersonal skills, fosters a team environment, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize work in a fast paced environment. Trained in general use of pharmacy computer systems. Safety Sensitive Designation: This position is deemed safety sensitive in accordance with Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform the following: Must have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to solve problems and make decisions. Ability to stand and walk and sit for long periods of time, 4-8 hours per shift. Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, squat, and kneel to pick up items from floor or on higher/lower shelves, and ability to lift and carry moderate loads up to 20 pounds with proper body mechanics. Requires repetitive use of hands and fingers (preparation of IV solutions, use of computer keyboard), and ability to finger, grasp, and feel objects. Must have a keen sense of hearing and visual acuity. Must be able to handle stressful situations with efficiency and composure, operate equipment required to perform pharmacy department tasks, work with numerous interruptions, and perform independent work. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Ability to concentrate for long periods of time. Work Environment: Hospital environment to include Emergency Department, Patient Care Units, Patient Rooms, and Pharmacy. Potential exposure to hazardous or toxic substances (e.g., chemotherapeutic and/or cytotoxic drugs and cleaning solutions.) Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a position in a hospital setting which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Pharmacy staff: 4 days a week, 10 hour shifts and may include weekend, holiday, on call, and night shifts with long irregular hours occasionally required.
