The pharmacy team at Samaritan Health Services is looking for a Traveling Pharmacist. This position is eligible for a $3.00 per hour float differential to be paid on hours worked. Travel will be between Samaritan Hospital Retail Pharmacy sites in the mid-Willamette Valley and central Oregon Coast. Samaritan Health Services pharmacies are staffed by experienced pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who are the area leading experts on thousands of medications. They make important decisions that help optimize a patient drug therapy and are dedicated to patient care. The pharmacy is open to any member of the public. The primary role of this pharmacy is to dispense community patient prescriptions. They also offer immunizations, medication management services, and specialty medications. JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE Performs the duties of Pharmacist as prescribed by state and federal statutes as well as SHS policies. Prepares and dispenses medication; assesses clinical status of patients (neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics). Provides drug information to the medical team. Educates patients. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The pharmacy administration department provides leadership and direction to the various pharmacy departments and programs at SHS. These include inpatient and outpatient pharmacies, the anti-coagulation and pharmacy residency programs as well as 340 B operations. We are staffed with seasoned pharmacists and technicians who help optimize pharmaceutical care throughout our SHS service area. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS Current unencumbered Oregon Pharmacist Licensure required. Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred. All job offers are contingent upon the candidate passing a pre-employment/post offer drug screen. SHS Pharmacy Administration - Outpatient Pharmacist (if applicable): Healthcare Provider Level BLS required within three (3) months of hire. Successful completion of Pharmacist Immunization Certification required within one (1) year of hire. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Communication - Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues. Ability to perform group presentations and listen to and understand complex information and ideas. Computer Literacy - Knowledge of electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, including applications. Ability to operate applications, set up functions, enter data, and manipulate and process information. Social Perceptiveness - Ability to work with a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics. Basic understanding of age-related differences in caring for and/or communicating with patients and caregivers. Possess personal sensitivity to the needs and experiences of others and a non-judgmental attitude towards persons of differing standards, values, lifestyles and ages. Team Building - Ability to work, function and communicate on a multi-disciplinary team. Possess the knowledge and skills to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time. Demonstrates teamwork.
