Job Details

Position Summary:
The Personal Injury Paralegal at Law Firm Name is responsible for providing essential legal support to attorneys handling personal injury cases. You will assist in various aspects of case management, including client communication, document preparation, legal research, and administrative tasks, to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the firm's personal injury practice.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Communication: Maintain regular contact with clients, providing updates on case progress and answering their questions and concerns.

Case Management: Assist attorneys in organizing and managing case files, including tracking important deadlines, appointments, and court dates.

Document Preparation: Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal procedures.

Legal Research: Conduct legal research to support attorneys in case preparation, including gathering information on relevant laws, regulations, and precedents.

Record Keeping: Maintain organized and up-to-date electronic and physical case files, ensuring easy retrieval of information when needed.

Witness Coordination: Assist in identifying and coordinating witnesses for depositions, interviews, and court appearances.

Trial Preparation: Prepare trial exhibits, assist in developing trial strategy, and coordinate with experts and witnesses for trial.

Administrative Tasks: Handle administrative duties, including scheduling appointments, managing attorney calendars, and processing legal documents and correspondence.

Billing: Assist in preparing and reviewing client invoices and tracking billable hours.

Compliance: Ensure that all case-related activities adhere to ethical and professional standards, including maintaining client confidentiality.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
Paralegal certification is a plus.
Previous experience as a paralegal, particularly in personal injury law, is highly desirable.
Proficiency in legal research and document preparation.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and clients.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Familiarity with legal software and technology.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Compassionate and empathetic approach when interacting with clients.
