Reporting directly to and under the supervision of the Branch Manager, the Personal Financial Wellness Representative's primary purpose is to assist Great Lakes Credit Union to live out our Vision, "To be the members' trusted financial partner". Responsible for ensuring that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members, in alignment with our Standards of Greatness.

The Personal Financial Wellness Representative is responsible for meeting or exceeding members' expectations by providing excellent service. Acts as the members' most valued financial partner, taking every opportunity to understand and assess their financial needs and goals. Cross sell loans and ancillary products while providing quality member service to attain or exceed sales goals. Advises members of appropriate products and services that will help them achieve their goals while appropriately positioning ancillary products utilizing consultative sales processes and strategies. Performs all duties with accuracy and in compliance with federal and state laws, rules and regulations, and complies with GLCU's policies and procedures. Demonstrates cooperation and maintains positive working relationships with other GLCU departments and staff. Supports the Member Promise and maintains positive working relationships by supporting Standards of Excellence.

As a Business Banking Specialist, you will:

  • Assess each member's financial situation and determines the best products and services to help improve their financial wellness.
  • Consistently attain and exceed assigned sales goals while contributing to department and credit union success.
  • Provide guidance and information to members regarding membership, deposit products, loan eligibility, lending criteria and denial reasons. Council members on various credit union products and services.
  • Interview members and prospects to process loan applications which include credit cards, home equity loans and consumer loans.
  • Examine applications, worksheets, and credit reports for additional cross-sell opportunities.
  • Provide consultations with members to answer questions regarding lending products and services.
  • Conduct financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, wires, and other requests as needed.
  • Investigate and resolve members' issues and complaints in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements

  • One year to three years of similar or related experience
  • A 2-year college degree, or completion of a specialized study at school, or extensive in-house training
  • Significant level of trust and diplomacy is required.
  • Must obtain their FiCep certification or similar certification.
