Seeking client-centered Creative Arts Therapists (Art, Dance/Movement, Music) and/or Mental Health Counselors to join our adjunctive therapy team. We have a large, multidisciplinary team of therapists and counselors who provide therapeutic programming throughout the hospital serving adults with acute psychiatric illness. The per diem therapist works as part of the adjunctive therapy team to plan and conduct a variety of evidence-based psychotherapeutic and counseling interventions that support the wellness and recovery of individuals with mental illness. Our therapists facilitate groups in accordance with trauma-informed and recovery-based principles. Adjunctive Therapists also facilitate individual sessions and complete assessments.

The therapist is expected to observe, assess, record and report patient behavior and relate it to patient's progress in treatment via documentation and verbal communication, and complete proper clinical documentation in accordance with policies and procedures. AT Staff create an atmosphere of warmth, caring, and unconditional positive regard toward all patients and staff.

Compensation is $26/hour for master's level per diem staff. Scheduling is based on departmental need. Primarily seeking clinicians with weekend availability, but we are also in need of evening per diem staff.

Job Duties:

1. Plans and conducts a variety of evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions that support the wellness and recovery of individuals with mental illness

2. Conducts group and individual creative arts, recreation, or verbal therapy sessions with patients with acute psychiatric illness to support their wellness and recovery

3. Observes, assesses, records and reports patient behavior and relate it to patient's progress in treatment via documentation and verbal communication

4. Maintains proper clinical documentation in accordance with policies and procedures

5. Completes adjunctive therapy assessments

6. Participates in adjunctive therapy performance improvement processes

7. Assists in the planning, developing, and carrying out of therapeutic and activity-based programming

8. Creates an atmosphere of warmth, caring, and unconditional positive regard toward all patients and staff

9. Maintains organization and cleanliness of therapy supply closet, as well as communicates with supervisor regarding low inventory of supplies

10. Designs individual and group sessions around trauma informed and recovery-based practices

11. Attends and participates in weekly staff meetings (if scheduled during a meeting day)

12. Any other relevant duties/projects as assigned by the Director, Assistant Director, or Program Coordinators

Experience:

1. Master's Degree in Art Therapy, Dance/Movement Therapy, Music Therapy, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or related field.

2. Minimum of 1 year of experience providing mental health counseling with adults (or equivalency of training with internship)

3. Experience conducting group and individual sessions, ideally in a partial or inpatient hospital setting

4. Experience and/or training in verbal counseling techniques

5. Any additional combination of skills, ability, and experience appropriate for the job
