POSITION PURPOSE: The qualified candidate will provide primary care services to pediatric patients. The individual must be proficient in treating various medical problems ranging from preventive care to more complex and difficult-to-identify conditions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
- Perform routine health assessments and acute care for children and youth to twenty-one (21).
- Formulate and implement health management and plans with the parents and patients.
- Provide consultation for the pediatric mid-level provider so that he or she can function to his or her maximum potential.
- Maintain patient records in the prescribed manner (problem-oriented record system).
- Write and dictate letters and summaries, referrals, etc., for appropriate coordination/continuity of care.
- Admit and attend hospitalized patients as necessary. Submit a monthly report of the same to the supervisor.
- Assist with and participate in staff/community health education projects.
- Participate in weekly case conferences and chart audit systems regularly.
- Participate in regular continuing medical education activities (50 credit hours per year).
- Participate on staff committees as necessary.
- Provide 4,200 patient encounters (minimum) per year.
- Be available for office hours, evenings, and Saturdays according to rotation, including holidays.
- Provide emergency telephone coverage according to rotation, including weekends and holidays.
- Perform other related work as required by the Supervisor.
- Carry out QCHC House Rules.
- Maintain accurate logs and record keeping.
- Active participation in the Quality Assurance Program
- Supervise consultation in all areas of the Pediatric Department.
- Participate in all Immunization Protocols and Procedures as the American College of Physicians (ACP) indicates.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Proof of Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and completion of Residency from an accredited program
- State of Pennsylvania Licensure
- Board Certification/Eligibility
