POSITION TITLE: PEDIATRIC DENTAL RESIDENCY DIRECTOR FLSA: EXEMPT REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Bachelor degree required. DDS or DMD required. Current Florida Dental License required. Current DEA Certificate required. Graduate of an ADA accredited Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry Program. Board Certified/Eligible Florida Pediatric Conscious Sedation Permit. Eligible for active staff medical appointment at affiliated hospitals. Maintain membership with the American Dental Association & the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required. Provide leadership and managerial skills to NYU Langone post-doctoral pediatric dental residency program and deliver pediatric dental care in both a clinical and hospital setting PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Assist with the development, coordination, supervision, and enforcement of clinical pediatric dental policies, procedures, and protocols as indicated for compliance with both NYU Langone and Suncoast policies and procedures. Educates the staff on adherence to these policies. Assist in the implementation of preventive practice guidelines for the treatment of pediatric dental disease based on local community standards and national oral health guidelines. Act as an NYU Langone liaison Participate in the recruitment and selection process of the residents. Coordinate and attend the weekly didactic sessions at the affiliated site. Provide and direct residents in the provision of comprehensive pediatric dental care. Coordinate & supervise the necessary dental care for hospital rotations with pediatric dental residents. Coordinate & supervise the on-call schedule for after-hours emergency calls for pediatric patients of record. Take after-hour emergency calls from SCHC patients of record and affiliated hospitals on a rotating basis. Provide necessary dental care for affiliated hospitals' pediatric dental patients. Work with the medical staff in support of an integrative home health model and is available for consultation with the center's medical staff regarding patients' dental problems. Maintain exceptional levels of customer service to internal and external persons. Supervise residents during rounds, case presentations, chart reviews, and staff conferences. Attest to Patient Charts in all resident visits Participate in the Quality Improvement program in compliance with Suncoast. Annual employee evaluations, weekly time schedules, and vacation schedules as assigned. Other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Guide, oversee, and supervise dental personnel as assigned.
