Job Title: Professional Development & Training Specialist

Reports to: Professional Development & Training Director

General Job Description:

Under the direction of the PD&T director, the PD&T specialist is responsible for scheduling ADOS-2 events and supporting the development and execution of product training and other professional development events. The PD&T specialist will oversee the department budget. This role requires excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as effective communication and the ability to work independently.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Provide start-to-finish planning for professional development events, including ADOS-2 in-person events and privately coordinated events.
  • Support on-demand products and live webinars. This includes planning, coordinating, collaborating, and executing tasks.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to manage training content for new and existing products. This may involve working with contracted production companies and/or performing tasks in-house.
  • Support post-production editorial process for assigned events, this may include light editorial.
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to ensure alignment with WPS vision and core values.
  • Adhere to and oversee the department budget.
  • Perform administrative and other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements (Skills, Knowledge, Abilities):
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Zoom
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems
  • Experience with editorial software (e.g., Adobe)
  • Ability to prioritize and manage projects efficiently with experience working within an innovative, fast-paced, and professional environment.

Travel: Travel required
  • Must be able to come into to the Torrance office M - F upon request. Outside of requested attendance, the applicant has the option to work from home or the Torrance office.
  • Travel to scheduled trainings for which a PD&T Representative is required/assigned. This responsibility requires ability/willingness to travel up to 4 days per month.
