The Northrop Grumman Enterprise Services organization is seeking an experienced PC Network Support Technician for a part time role at its Amherst, New York location. The selected candidate will work with supported Mission System programs, the Mission Systems CIO team, and Enterprise Distributed Network (EDN)/ Manufacturing Distributed Network (MDN) teams to support program lab and manufacturing environments. They will also identify and pursue possible connectivity / migrations of program and lab environments to EDN and MDN. He/she will work with EDN/MDN resources to find ways to automate as much of the patching and virus updates as possible. Additional Duties Include:
• Coordinate with local operations supervisors to schedule/prioritize patching, virus updates and other hardware and software support for all unclassified off-net and advanced manufacturing computers around shop floor production schedule to eliminate/minimize production downtime and ensure no lost product due to unexpected/unplanned IT activities.
• Perform network technician/hands-on support to program networks and EDN teams to support connectivity to EDN and Network troubleshooting (check ports, patching, basic port-config, Layer 1, Layer 2)
• Provide IT support to assist in the containment of contain information spillages and leaks.
• Work with program owners to ensure all PC issues for unclassified machines are addressed in timely manner.
• Provide off-hour on-call support and after-hours and/or weekend work based on shop floor production schedule when required
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, hardware, software, imaging, and systems installs for all shop floor computers
• Perform advanced off-net and shop floor systems support for server and system administration
• Provide first line support to the sector A/V team for IT issues related to equipment in conference rooms and collaboration spaces.
• Perform monthly patching, virus updates and other hardware and software support per DFARS and CMMC controls and requirements.
• Work with local Facilities Engineering/Operations/Manufacturing and Process Engineering to help create configurations and BOMs for new hardware and software that needs purchased as part of a shop floor equipment purchase and/or capital/facilities request
• Work with cybersecurity and local business leadership to support audits and audit findings on off-net equipment
• Work with cybersecurity to ensure compliance with DFARS and CMMC requirements and controls
• Work with equipment vendors to update hardware, software and connectivity to the equipment
• Work with vendor to troubleshoot problems
• Ensure system, configurations, data etc. are backed up and secure for disaster recovery. This position will be a part-time role of 20 hours per week. Basic Qualifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four years technical support experience
• Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Must be able to spend an entire workday on their feet (walking, standing, crawling under desks)
• Must be able to obtain / maintain DoD classified clearance Preferred Qualifications:
• Customer relationship skills - must have a passion for customer support
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Understanding of NIST 800-171 and CMMC compliance and controls
• Implementation and management of controls for compliance to NIST 800-171 and CMMC
• Prior experience supporting IT Operations in a Manufacturing environment
• Must maintain a neat and organized work area
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to complete multiple simultaneous projects in a timely manner
• Self-starter/ Quick learner / self-directed
• Work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
• Current DoD Secret clearance Salary Range: $55,100 - $91,900 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
