WHAT WOULD YOU DO AS A PAYROLL TAX SPECIALIST

As a new Payroll Tax Specialist at Payroll4Construction, you can expect a dynamic and fast-paced role. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include accurately calculating and remitting payroll taxes, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. You will also be responsible for researching and resolving any payroll tax-related inquiries or issues that may arise. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of payroll tax laws will be key to your success in this role.

This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment. Your expected schedule will be Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing you with a consistent and predictable workweek. WHAT MATTERS MOST

To be successful in the role of Payroll Tax Specialist at Payroll4Construction, the following skills and experience are necessary: 2-3 years of experience processing and reconciling payroll taxes across multiple states and locals. Expert knowledge of federal, state, and local statutes, regulations, and best practices related to payroll taxes. Accurate and timely filing of federal, state, and local tax liabilities, including amended filings. Reviewing and monitoring payroll records to ensure accurate recording of tax transactions.

Ability to audit new client set-up to confirm correct tax setup and generate and correct W-2 forms as required. Strong customer service skills and the ability to positively contribute to client retention through effective communication via phone, email, and fax. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and the willingness to learn and master other software applications as needed.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

Maintain a high level of expert knowledge of federal state and local statutes, regulations and best practices relating to payroll taxes
Responsible for accurately and timely filling of federal state and local tax liabilities
Responsible for accurately and timely filling of amended federal state and local tax liabilities
Review and monitor payroll records to confirm tax transactions are recorded accurately
Audit new client set-up to confirm taxes and other items are setup correctly
Generate audit and correct w-2's as required
Positively contribute to client retention by providing positive clear and effective customer service communication via phone email and/or fax
Teamwork and high level of interaction requiring regular and predictable on-site attendance
Face-to-face interaction and coordination of work with other employees
All other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

2-3 years of experience processing and reconciling payroll taxes across multiple states and locals.
Possess the knowledge to process and reconcile payroll taxes in multiple jurisdictions and to learn federal state and local statues regulations and best practices related to payroll taxes
Ability to work in a deadline driven environment with a high level of accuracy
Work well independently and within a team environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and could learn and master other software applications as needed
Preferred experience in MasterTax and Foundation Software
