Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist will share responsibility for payroll processing, timekeeping administration and may perform other administrative duties. The ideal candidate will have strong work ethic, operating with a highest sense of integrity, confidentiality and honesty.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurate preparation and submission of payroll using SAP and ADP systems
  • Clear understanding of companies pay practices/policies
  • Perform payroll audits
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and ensure compliance
  • Execute time and attendance processing
  • Manage & schedule benefits enrollment
  • Analyze the flow of employee benefits data and help ensure accurate update of employee information and benefits records
  • Ensure efficient and accurate workflow and the best utilization of systems capabilities / improved processes
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc)
  • Research and email appropriate audience of file issues
  • Adjust errors and respond to payroll related questions or issues in a timely manner
  • Responsible for various internal reporting
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required (Associates degree is highly desired.)
  • 2+ years direct payroll experience processing both hourly and salaried payroll
  • Knowledge of payroll principles, practices, procedures, including state and federal regulations
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail
  • Prior SAP, Excel, Access, Outlook, ADP experience
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
