Payroll Administrator - Timonium, MD
About the Company and Payroll Administrator Opportunity:
- CFS is partnering with a repeat client, a big name in fitness industry, to hire a Payroll Administrator or Manager to cover for a maternity leave.
- This role is set to begin as soon as possible and will likely go through June 2024
- Reports to the HR Manager
- This is a temporary position. Schedule is 100% in office in Timonium, MD. Monday - Friday 8am-4pm
Responsibilities of the Payroll Administrator:
- Process semimonthly payroll for approximately 1,500 employees across multiple states
- Process background checks and new hire paperwork
- Verify i9 information for new employees
- Verify timecard accuracy and completion for employees and ensure manager approvals are on timecards
- Update employee changes in salary, status, and banking information
- Ensure proper employee contribution deductions are in place for insurance, parking, 401K, etc.
- Administer wage garnishments requests and remitted payments as needed
- Manage all payroll general ledger accounts, to include account reconciliations and monthly accruals
- Manage the federal and state payroll tax reporting, including quarterly and year-end returns
- Prepare, review, and transmit federal, state, and related filings by due dates
- Compile and file required reports for year-end close, year-end reporting, and processing of W-2's
- Special projects as needed
Requirements for the Payroll Administrator:
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience required
- Experience using Paycom a plus
- Proficient with Excel
- Independent worker who is not afraid to ask questions
- Strong attention to detail
