Overview of the Payroll Accountant Role
- Review and approve timesheets weekly and resolve and coding issues
- Execute payroll processing through ERP and payroll system
- Ensure all monthly, quarterly, and year end payroll reports and taxes are in compliance with State and Federal laws.
- Allocate and post journal entries for payroll, insurance, taxes, wages, and other payroll entries
- Manage month end close process regarding time sheets, payroll, and benefits
- Reconciliation and coordination of payments to benefit providers with the AP team
Preferred Qualifications
- BA/BS in Accounting or equivalent work experience
- Previous experience in payroll processing with strong knowledge of payroll processes and regulations
- General knowledge of GAAP
- Experience with Paylocity is a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
