Description: SUMMARY: Patrol Security Officers provide protection from any element or factor which may jeopardize the welfare, security and safety of employees, guests or customers and their personal property and the assets of the Fremont Street Experience.

This position pays $17.00 per hour and offers potential advancement to the ranks of Corporal, Sergeant, and Lieutenant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serves as a goodwill ambassador for Fremont Street Experience and partner stakeholders.

• Provides high visibility, pro-active patrols of the premises to detect, deter, and disrupt criminal activity.

• Vigilantly scans for non-compliance with company policies, Federal/State/Local laws to include the City of Las Vegas Municipal Ordinances and takes action to gain voluntary compliance.

• Serves as a liaison to local law enforcement, working in close partnership with City of Las Vegas Marshals and Las Vegas Metro PD officers on investigations when voluntary compliance is not obtained.

• Observes areas to detect fire and safety hazards, or other defects which might compromise the well-being of life and/or property.

• Performs crowd and traffic control at various events and activities for FSE including and not limited to Casino Center Blvd for the Viva Vision shows.

• Keeps alert for and reports any unauthorized vendors, advertisers, entertainment, special events, filming, or commercial activities unless authorized or conducted by FSE.

• Keeps alert for and reports any intentional obstruction of pedestrian movement in the mall area.

• Keeps alert for and reports persons whose actions may have nefarious intent, or persons who are disrupting the peace of the establishment.

• Responds to all medical emergency calls and stands by until the arrival of emergency medical responders.
• Assists in preparing reports, preserving evidence and testifying in a court of law, or at a deposition.

• Assist all law enforcement agencies when needed.

• Receives lost/found property and surrenders property to dispatch for safekeeping.

• Perform other duties as assigned or directed by a superior.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent; or, one year of security experience.

• Knowledge of computer technology and equipment.
• Knowledge of law enforcement terminology and procedures.

• Knowledge of English language for spelling and effective communication.

• Skill in multitasking, coordinating simultaneous mental, manual and visual activities.

• Skill in observing situations analytically and objectively and relaying details accurately.

• Skill in communicating using two-way radio and telephone equipment.

• Skill in reading and interpreting maps to determine locations and zone boundaries.

• Ability to speak clearly and concisely.

• Ability to think clearly, act quickly in emergencies and multi-task while under stress.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.

• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

• Officers must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.

• Officers must be able to utilize their hands to use tools, controls, reach with hands and arms and talk and hear.

• Officers must be able to walk, run, jump, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

• Officers must be able to occasionally lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds.

• Officers must be able to pursue and/or detain a perpetrator either on bicycle or on foot.

• Officers must be able to communicate effectively via two-way radios and phones.

• Officers must be able to perform the duties of this job in outside weather conditions including but not limited to cold weather and very hot weather.

• Officer must be able to work in an environment that varies noise levels from low to loud depending on the event or concert.
