Patient Care Technician Educator

Join Thompson in this new grant funded opportunity as the Patient Care Technician Educator. Full time, D/E position This position is grant funded. Benefits Health, dental, vision insurance Tuition reimbursement up to $6000/year Contribution and match on Retirement Plan Five weeks paid time off Access to Success coaches Free parking Main Function Provide oversight for all aspects of the patient care technician (PCT) orientation and continuing education Create career pathways for PCTs Create a positive learning environment and ongoing support for retention of PCTs in conjunction with unit/department leaders Required Job Specific Competencies Promotes evidence based practice in PCT onboarding and continuing education Implements teaching and learning strategies and interventions based on adult learning theory Evaluates clinical outcomes as related to education interventions including the impact on cost, quality, and satisfaction with health care Involvement in the implementation of new techniques for safety and quality care Maintains own knowledge base on current interventions, trends, healthcare and professional nursing developments Knowledge of Systems Theory and change process required Qualifications/Education BSN required NYS license to practice nursing required BLS Certification required MSN in nursing education preferred Maintains a minimum of fifty hours of continuing education annually Experience 3-5 years of experience in adult acute care nursing Experience in education and other program planning Previous or current faculty experience desirable Project management experience desirable Company Culture Thompson Health has a culture of empowerment.
