Sign on bonus eligible The Opportunity: Patient Care Associate - The Emergency Department The Emergency Department is a Level I Adult, Pediatric and Burn Trauma Center. It spans the ground floor of 3 buildings and is divided into several areas, including pediatric and psychiatric areas. Schedule (3) 12-hour shifts Evenings 3pm-3:30am 36 hours per week Rotational holiday and weekend schedule What are we looking for? The Patient Care Associate (PCA) will assist the RNs in the Emergency Department (ED) with a variety of functions including phlebotomy and EKGs, transport patients, check rooms and equipment, assist patients with dressing and feeding and some clerical functions. Skills Effective customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers. Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems using a combination of strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and superior organizational skills. Ability to lift and transport patients, using the appropriate physical technique, in a safe manner for the patient and self. Preferred: Must have recent experience, and/or training, in clinical patient care. Required: Licensed, certified or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT accredited program, at the time of hire, OR Candidate enrolled in a Nursing program, Pre-Med or PA undergraduate program with at least one semester of patient care rotations completed at time of hire.
