Provide support for installation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and inventory of equipment, materials, and tools used in the School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering, and Applied Science. Responsibilities include assisting full-time and adjunct faculty in the School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering, and Applied Science laboratories in Columbus, Shelbyville, Franklin, Greensburg, North Vernon, and Seymour. Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. Promote the same as an integral part of one's work. Major Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Maintain the equipment in the School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering, and Applied Science labs in working order. 2. Maintain and calibrate test equipment in electronics, mechanics, and robotics labs. 3. Work with program chairs to ensure a parts supply is maintained for lab experiments. 4. Custom-make parts and fixtures as needed to support School activities. 5. Keep an updated inventory of lab equipment. Inform the Program Chair and/or Dean of any difficulty with suppliers. Send in all warranty cards and keep all users' copies of warranty cards. 6. Work closely with the School's Administrative Assistant on quotes, purchases, orders, back orders, and tagging of new equipment with ITCC numbers. Coordinate equipment delivery from Shipping and Receiving to laboratories or classrooms. 7. Set up a good Preventive Maintenance program on all lab equipment on a semester-term calibration and checkout. 8. Provide instruction on the use of lab equipment to other personnel within the School. 10. Work with faculty to set up equipment for labs when necessary. 11. Provide institutional support as requested by college administration such as participation in projects related to college and program accreditations, and grant-related projects. 12. Participate in professional development and School activities that may include scheduled training, time spent onsite in related businesses and industries, self-study to advance specific technical skills, and current knowledge within the field of study. 13. Support faculty, Program Chairs, and Dean during the community/industry partners and high school visits. 14. Participate in community service activities on behalf of the college to advance the college's relationships within its service area as appropriate for the department/division/college. OTHER FUNCTIONS: Supervise students during laboratory assignments when needed. Minimum Qualifications: Possesses Certificates, Technical Certificates from a regionally and/or nationally accredited institution directly related to the School's programs And, three to five years of directly related work experience that is specifically related to installation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and inventory of equipment, materials, and tools Preferred Qualifications: Possesses an earned Associate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution directly related to the School's programs And, possesses any specialized certifications related to the job description And, three years of directly related work experience that is specifically related to installation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and inventory of equipment, materials, and tools Other Requirements: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Some lifting.
