Part Time Infant/Toddler Specialist Reports to: Birth to Three Supervisor Job Description: This position is responsible for providing high quality comprehensive home-based services to children and families enrolled in Bensenville School District 2's Birth to Three Program Home Visit Program. Home Visitors provide home visit support to at-risk families, emphasizing the importance of the parent/child connection and its impact on social-emotional health and academic success. 1. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Provide year-round home visiting services to 10 - 15 families, two to three times per month. Select, develop and prepare appropriate instructional material using the BabyTALK curriculum. Promote positive parent/child interactions through the use of research-based strategies. Track, develop and report on program outcomes. Conduct developmental screenings and assessments. Connect families to community resources as indicated by their Family Needs Assessment and ongoing interaction with families. Increase the family's ability to problem solve and advocate for themselves and their children. Participate in staff meetings, professional development trainings and reflective supervision. Assist in the recruiting process through the attendance of outreach events occurring at numerous times and locations throughout the school year. Assists in other district wide initiatives that reflect the needs of B-3 families such as the resource and referral, and data collection. Attends and informs the direction of the Bensenville Early Learning Supporters Collaborative. Perform other tasks and duties as assigned. 2. Required Qualifications: Must have a Bachelors degree in early childhood education, social work, psychology or a closely related field from an accredited school. Ability to effectively collaborate with others. Experience working with economically disadvantaged children and families. Experience in establishing support-based relationships with families. Ability to read, write and speak in Spanish and English. Ability to work independently, and take responsibility to complete assigned projects in a timely and efficient manner. Ability to work flexible hours. Computer Literacy. Valid Drivers License. 3. Physical Demands: a. Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands, and reaching. b. Vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus c. May be required to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 20 pounds This is not a union position nor is it a part of the collective bargaining agreement. TRS is not included.
