The Fashion Design department at Pratt Institute, located in Brooklyn, NY, is creating a pool of applicants to join our part-time faculty community.
At Pratt, we define fashion practice as cultural messaging through clothes. Students contextualize fashion within a social framework and through rigorous attention to production, craft, and contemporary aesthetics.
Devoted to a creative learning community, Pratt recognizes the strength that stems from a diversity of perspectives, ideas, backgrounds, approaches and experiences. Pay Rate: $1,300 - $1,720 per contact hour
Immediate openings in construction, patternmaking and draping. We encourage applicants with experience and knowledge in the following areas of expertise:

Flat pattern making, three-dimensional draping and garment construction

Various construction techniques, finishing details and best practices

Experience applying technical skills to the creative process through draping, patternmaking and cutting

Historical and critical perspectives on contemporary fashion design, especially non-western perspectives on fashion design

Sustainability, materials/textiles and circular design practices

Digital design literacy, CAD technology/CLO3D
