Accentuate Staffing is seeking a Part-Time Accounting Specialist. This role will support the accounting department in managing AP, AR, and collections. This role requires a meticulous and organized individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely processing of invoices, accurate record-keeping, and effective collection of outstanding accounts.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Process and verify vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
- Prepare and issue payments to vendors in a timely manner.
- Reconcile AP transactions and resolve discrepancies with vendors.
- Maintain accurate AP records and assist in month-end closing procedures.
Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Generate and send out invoices to customers promptly.
- Track and record incoming payments, ensuring accurate allocation to customer accounts.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Reconcile AR transactions and resolve discrepancies with customers.
Collections:
- Contact customers to collect overdue payments through phone calls, emails, and letters.
- Negotiate payment arrangements and follow up on commitments.
- Maintain detailed records of collection activities and customer communications.
- Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to address billing issues and disputes.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on AP, AR, and collections.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
