Shutts & Bowen LLP, a prominent law firm in Florida, is seeking a Paralegal specializing in Alcohol and Beverage Licensing to join our team in the Miami office.

Essential Functions
  • Assists Paralegals and clients through the various stages of completing license and permit applications.
  • Collects information, identifies and examines issues, and formulates recommendations to resolve the licensing problem.
  • Explains particular license or permit requirements and identifies and responds to applicants concerning compliance with licensing requirements.
  • Work with Paralegals to analyze and interpret client's needs, providing appropriate information based on the review of their application and supporting documents.
  • Conducts evaluations for processing licenses or permits, current procedures, and proposed operational frameworks.
  • Provides pertinent information on Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations.
  • Maintains and updates files and licensing information for various licenses and permits.
  • Reviews applications and accompanying documents, such as financial records, to ensure compliance with the regulations, criteria, and rules that govern specific licenses, refers cases as necessary, and organizes files for presentation to the ABC Board for approval.
  • Outstanding communication skills, strong analytical and organizational talents, and a proactive approach to multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of timekeeping for billable and non-billable work.
  • Consistently provide exceptional client service and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Attendance in the office is required.
Experience
  • One to two years of law firm experience, preferably as a Paralegal.

  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
