We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as a Permanent Paper Mill Supervisor. This role requires a hands-on approach to overseeing the daily operations of our busy paper mill, ensuring production targets are met and quality standards are maintained. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of dedicated professionals, implementing operational improvements, and ensuring safety and compliance with industry regulations. This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the paper mill, ensuring production targets are met and quality standards are maintained.
2. Supervise a team of professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
3. Implement operational improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
4. Ensure safety protocols are adhered to and that the mill is in compliance with industry regulations.
5. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate production schedules and resolve any issues that may arise.
6. Monitor and control inventory of raw materials and finished products.
7. Prepare and present regular reports on production activities and performance.
8. Participate in budget preparation and cost control.
9. Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
10. Liaise with suppliers and customers as required.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory role within a paper mill or similar manufacturing environment.
2. Extensive knowledge of papermaking processes and equipment.
3. Proven ability to lead and manage a team.
4. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make effective decisions under pressure.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Proficiency in using computer software for production planning and reporting.
7. A strong commitment to safety and compliance.
8. A degree in a relevant field such as Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Management would be an advantage.
9. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
10. Physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy environment.
