We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Security Network Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Security Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network security infrastructure, with a focus on Palo Alto Firewalls and layer 3 routing. This is a 12-month project in Aurora, IL. Applicants must be local to the Aurora, IL area.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage network security infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Palo Alto Firewalls.
- Configure and maintain layer 3 routing protocols, such as OSPF and BGP, to ensure efficient and secure network traffic flow.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement network security policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Monitor network traffic and security logs to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices in network security and Palo Alto Firewalls.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network security engineering, with a focus on Palo Alto Firewalls.
- Strong understanding of layer 3 routing protocols, such as OSPF and BGP.
- In-depth knowledge of network security principles, best practices, and industry standards.
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with other network security technologies, such as VPNs, IDS/IPS, and SIEM.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Relevant certifications, such as PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer), are highly desirable.
